Interpretation

The assemblage of small woodland-dependent birds is simplifying. Noisy Miner relative detections increased at high-edge sites over the same interval. This is a composition and occupancy story, not a claim that ‘biodiversity declined because fewer species were listed’.

Significance

If the pattern holds, remnant woodland on the Cumberland Plain is retaining canopy while losing interior insectivore function. That is biological change, not a species-directory update.
